Sanjierupi Gao is composed of E Zhu (Curcumae Rhizoma), Jiang Huang (Rhizoma Curcumae), Ji Xing Zi (Impatientis Semen, Tian Kui Zi (Semiaquiliegiae Radix) and Bai Zhi (Angelicae dahuricae Radix). In this randomised, double-blind, controlled study of 260 patients, application of this herbal formula as a herbal adhesive plaster was found to significantly reduce the pain of patients with mammary gland hyperplasia compared to a control group, who received a placebo herbal plaster.
