Speaker(s): Florian Beissner is a Professor of Systems Neuroscience at Hannover Medical School and the Scientific Director of the Insula Institute for Integrative Therapy Research. He holds a physics degree, studied Chinese Medicine at the University of Porto, and earned his doctorate at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysics in 2010. He has authored over 40 papers and received multiple awards. His current research focuses on combining bodily stimulation techniques, like acupuncture, with psychotherapy, as well as exploring older medical literature.

This is the annual Hugh MacPherson Memorial Lecture 2024, held online by Northern College of Acupuncture to celebrate the research legacy of our co-founder.
