Speaker(s): The pre-recorded lecture features Andrew Nugent-Head from the Association for Traditional Studies (ATS). Andrew lived in China for 28 years, where he studied martial arts, medicine and internal cultivation in traditional Mentor-Disciple relationships. As the founder and president of ATS, he now dedicates himself to preserving, documenting and disseminating traditional knowledge as well as to bringing the benefit of the full strength of Chinese Medicine to the many patients at his teaching clinic in Asheville, USA. The in-person day will be taught by Conny and Zarig Cooper. Conny and Zarig both attended Andrew’s seminar series in London between 2012 and 2016 and have since been on 6 study trips to the Alternative Clinic in Asheville, USA, to observe the taught material being used in clinical practice. In 2018, they joined Andrew’s teaching team and started assisting at his European seminars. They both teach CPD courses in London and are dedicated to sharing ATS’s teachings of tangible, effective clinical skills with acupuncturists in the UK.

Join us for a day of tangible acupuncture focusing on Ma Danyang’s Heavenly Star points.
These 12 points have been passed down through history as a set of highly effective points, each producing an effect “like hot water poured upon snow”. On this day we will be exploring why that is and will be practising needle techniques to unlock their full potential.
The 1-day CPD includes:
-a prerecorded lecture (2.5h) by Andrew Nugent-Head providing background information on the “why” and “how” of the Heavenly Star points’ effects. This is to be watched before the practical day.
-a practical day where we will be practising tangible acupuncture techniques to unlock the full potential of these points. Please come prepared to needle and be needled to get a first-hand experience of their effects.
At the end of the day, course participants will have a deeper appreciation of the use of the Heavenly Star points, as well as relevant skills that can be used in clinic immediately to start reaping the results of these wonderful points.
