A comprehensive Level 2, 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course designed to specifically meet the needs of Healthcare Professionals in a clinical environment.

Speaker(s): With over 30 year teaching First Aid to a variety of clients (including colleges, clinics and practitioners from virtually every discipline) and with over 30 years of Front-line Accident and Emergency work (7 years as a police officer and subsequently over 17 years as a front-line London paramedic having personally attended over 30,000 emergency 999 calls) you can be sure of the quality of experience and teaching Alex brings to the table. Alex's passion for integrating Chinese and Western medicine stems from almost 35 years training in Japanese Martial Arts, philosophy and studying Namikoshi Shiatsu at Elite Martial Academy. In 2007, Alex qualified from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM), Reading with a 1st Class BSc (Hons) in Traditional Acupuncture, and subsequently completed his postgraduate diploma in Tuina Chinese Massage and Medical QiGong in 2009. Alex subsequently became a volunteer at the NHS Gateway Clinic in London and went on to study Applied Channel Theory with Prof Wang Ju Yi in China and Europe between 2009 and 2013 and then qualified as an osteopath in 2020. He currently splits his time treating patients at his clinic in Malvern (where he integrates Chinese and Western biomedicine) and teaching First Aid.

First Aid is an important universal life skill and, as such, it is important that you are sure of the competency, experience and safety of your provider. Our comprehensive Level 2, 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) courses have been designed to specifically meet the needs of Healthcare Professionals in a clinical environment, and include: A Systematic Approach to dealing with any situation; The unconscious patient, the Recovery Position, CPR and use of the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED); Bleeding, Shock and Wounds (including burns and minor injuries); Contents of a First Aid Box & Current First Aid Legislation; Common medical conditions including Heart attacks, Strokes, Diabetic Emergencies, Fits and Seizures; ​​ The course is limited to 12 attendees to enable maximum use of practical time and individual feedback. This course will be run as a blended learning course: so you will need to complete an online component (in the 6 weeks before the practical day) and a half day practical - in the morning (9 30am to 1pm) or afternoon (130pm - 5pm).​
